The Society of Manufacturing Engineers at the University of Houston is a registered 501(c)(7) non-profit organization founded in 1932 originally as the Society of Tool Engineers. Through the decades both our student chapter and the international SME organization has grown and advanced the engineering, science, business, and art of modern manufacturing and engineering professionalism both near and abroad. Our chapter specializes in professional development, business networking, and field experience to craft the minds at the University of Houston into career professionals that will build the future.
